Athenaeum minutes, directors Annual Report 1900 state that a football club had been formed, which assisted by numerous friends was prodicing HMS Pinafore in April 1901. Director Ann. report 1901 states that as a result of the production £172 handed over to Bury Cinderella Club, and it was the intention to provide an annual opera.
